Short description:
Sherpa is a Paris-based not for profit association created in 2001 with the aim of protecting and defending victims of economic crimes, that is to say human rights violations and abuses engendered by economic activities, be they committed by public or private entities.
Our conception of human rights is broad and includes poor working conditions; environmental violations as well as massive corrupt practices and allied offences that undermine the development process of developing countries.
Our ultimate goal is to contribute to the emergence of a globalized society where everyone benefits from the exploitation of natural resources and the international trade system, both developed and developing countries, and both present and future generations.
Through its action, Sherpa aims to contribute to the concrete implementation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Sherpa’s activities are divided into the following four programs:
- Financing for Development
- The Resources Curse
- Social and Environmental Havens
- Research for Development
